Peapods' Saturday Club started an 'Around the World' journey in February with a good old English knees-up!

With the help of the Borderline Morris Dancing group, mums and dads and children of all ages and abilities were dancing, clapping and stamping their feet to the music!

Isobel Backhouse, one of Borderline's dancers is also a Peapods member and she arranged the meeting of the two groups. She finds being a Morris Dancer a liberating, happy experience and enjoys the social side of it, the dressing up and performing at various fetes and fairs.

We're a new breed of Morris Dancers. We're slightly modern in our approach; we do lots of different dances and our costumes are non traditional. It's great to bring what we do to people who wouldn't normally experience Morris dancing and we were happy to attend a Peapods Saturday Club and to get everyone joining in.

As well as the Morris dancing, February's Saturday Club was full to the brim of other typically English things like cucumber sandwiches, scones and tea, Thomas the Tank Engine and Noddy and games such as Tiddlywinks and Table Top Skittles.

Peapods' Chairman Julie Monahan said it was one of the best Saturday Clubs to date and hopes that the rest of the 'Around The World' days will be just as fun.

The morning went really well and doing a group activity such as Morris dancing was a brilliant way to get everyone involved. Borderline were fantastic and they got everyone up and dancing. We all really enjoyed ourselves and hope to do it again soon.
